GOBS of photos...

These pics are /huge/. If you want the full effect on most, you'll have to click until you see the magnifier on the last page. Might want to just skip altogether, but each pic has a little story. There's even a "170 lbs. me" pic in there, for all you haters. LOL :)

um, that pic of you in the ocean looks like you. where your arms meet your shoulderish area, trust me, you don't look fat (lot of people gain weight in that area i've noticed). and its not like you have a double chin. in fact, i bet you weren't even 175 lbs in that picture! ITS A TRICK! busted! call me sherlock!

OMG! I was in a D cup bra, and allllllll the weight was in my azzzzzz and legs :> I had serious back in those days. *snort*

You're right, though, about it not showing that much on me. I carried the weight well, but was definitely /over/weight. My hair just got REAL freaky with the pregnancy and stayed that way for a couple more years.

Two things:
1. Could you NOT pose the sock-monkey as if it's happy to be a pin-up model? Geez! :D

2. I've found a dark background works better with crystals/glass. Or maybe something with a good hue, like a medium blue or red or something. But then with the dark, you got all sorts of fun things where the camera white-balances funny if you look at it crosseyed.

He's happy!!!!

Have you not been reading? I'm getting a 12x12 granite tile for that reason. I'm also getting some poster board (different colors) to experiment more with light. If you've been reading my journal, you should know that I just built my own light box and am experimenting with /anything/.

I know what does and does not photograph well. Maybe you should go back and relook at the first set of crystal. Those came out perfectly (except the blurry swan) with lighting adjustments, and looked cleaner. Still, I'm getting that tile to use. I /am/ a photographer after all, even if my subjects have typically been business-related (or military).

Been too busy NOT working on the Nano and just wanted to snark.

Hey, I'm a professional photographer too! *stamps foot and tries not to snerk* Glass shows up better on the dark, but i'm too lazy to do the color correction (plus, no equipment, la) to get the near-black back to near-black and not leave it as medium0gray. Bah. And i have the same problem with focussing on the glass stuff like that swan pic. rassenfrassen

Wooo lightboooox

Everybody likes to /think/ they're writers, artists and photographers; but until you're paid for it...well you know the rest.

I know all the tricks, and learned with an old 35mm, working in a dark room with my favorite: triX pan. The rest is history. Then again, I learned how do lay out a paper by hand, before the Mac became the wondermous tool to get it flowed and out the door in a few hours.

Maybe you should get back to nano.

Glass shows up if you want it to. But then, I haven't taken any pictures of glass yet and doubt I will.

Arghhhhhh. I was approximately 175 when that pic was taken (you're forgetting I'm 5'8").

Plus, m azz was stalking me there for a couple of years, and I had just stopped breast-feeding (in a D cup). I /still/ have that bathing suit to remind me of those days.

I admit, I was happier when I was overweight than I am under.

Those sweet lil "Tea cups" are used from when you two have tea (the real kind) and small snacks!

I wrote out a long response and El jay ate it!! Grrr.

You collect this type crystal? Want some? I have more; just didn't throw them in the box (yet...hahaha). :) They all have the Schwar. dove engraved on the bottom for authenticity of the silver crystal. I also have the three-penguin trilogy (my favorite). :) If you want, let's talk :> Tis the reason I built a light box :>

The teacups and soup bowls have never been touched except to clean (and I'm not selling those...lol). But I do have little "groups" of things that are collectibles and I'm parting with because, well, that's the Feng Shui way (er, I need the money? lol).

Words.

Here is Belladonna, the Lady of the Rocks,
The lady of situations.
Here is the man with three staves, and here the Wheel,
And here is the one-eyed merchant, and this card
Which is blank, is something that he carries on his back,
Which I am forbidden to see. I do not find
The Hanged Man. Fear death by water.
I see crowds of people, walking round in a ring.
Thank you. If you see dear Mrs. Equitone,
Tell her I bring the horoscope myself;

One must be so careful these days.
