Freaky Dream Song

Eww. I just remembered that right before I woke up, in the middle of a dream, the song "Lonely Nights" by (hang on to your hats...most of you won't know who this is) The Captain and Tenille was playing. In my dream. So all day today, that song has repeatedly been playing in my head. WTSBRAIN.

Loneeeeeelyyyyy nigghhhhhhtssssss...I cried myself to sleeeepppp...tell me what am I gonna do...

</singing it

We can sing it as a duet. In the shower. Or karaoke. All the same to me.

separate showers so it isn't erotic, not that singing Captain and Tenile wouldn't totally douse any potential eroticism anyways

I'll do "Endless Love" with you but no mas. lol Not that it wouldn't be seriously NOT erotic to sing Lonely Nights, OR Endless Love.

You've gotta be the only friend I have who's read that besides me! Yes it is stalkery. We don't need that 'round here.=O

Yeah, if somebody came up to me and used that line, I would head for the hills. :O

I thought I was the only one who'd heard of them :D

Hahaha. I'd wager that a few on my list have heard of them, and of those few, they know the song I keep hearing in my freakin' head.

Yes you are middle aged! Are you scared of turning 50? Turning 30 was hard on me. lol

Interestingly, the only "big" birthday that really hit me hard, in an introspective way, was 20. College graduation was a couple of weeks away, I was on my way to an MD-PhD program (and not really enthused, which explains why I left a year later), my relationship with my girlfriend was fraying and I wasn't sure if I was up to adulthood yet.

Compared to that, 30 and 40 were a breeze, and I think 50 will be, too. Now if I could just get the kids out of college and start to repair my finances!

Wow. The only reason I remember my 20th birthday is because I coined it my "nothing" year. From 13-19 you're a teen, and from 21 up you're adult. So at 20, you're at your nothing age :D I was all happy about that. See what a freak I am? Nothing normal about my thought processes. lol

I hope that I don't have a hard time when my next 10-year mark is up. And Kelsey graduates this year, so I'm on edge about that (and also finances, as usual). Gads. Isn't life supposed to get easier around these ages?

Oh no - now Love Will Keep Us Together is in my head.

Will wash it out with "Love Will Tear Us Apart" by Joy Division

100% agreed. And good on you for citing a pre-"Don't You Forget About Me" album. 'Promised You A Miracle' and 'Someone Somewhere in Summertime' are both favorites.

I was going to also mention 'Up On The Catwalk,' but I think that was on the next album.

Yeah, I was into alternative BEFORE it was coined alternative. Bauhaus and Echo And The Bunnymen (and Roxy Music) are all favorites, too. The early stuff. Bryan Ferry still does a decent job on his own, particularly with "Boys And Girls".

Someone called the group A to D, but I'm pretty sure it's She Wants Revenge. Anyway, the song is hot, and you can find it even on Playlist.com. I have it on mine.

Words.

Here is Belladonna, the Lady of the Rocks,
The lady of situations.
Here is the man with three staves, and here the Wheel,
And here is the one-eyed merchant, and this card
Which is blank, is something that he carries on his back,
Which I am forbidden to see. I do not find
The Hanged Man. Fear death by water.
I see crowds of people, walking round in a ring.
Thank you. If you see dear Mrs. Equitone,
Tell her I bring the horoscope myself;

One must be so careful these days.
