Remember the days when I used to use this thing? I can't imagine writing down daily occurrences now. Seems like my friends have stopped, too (most of 'em).

I fondly remember those days...

Start again, please?
Nov. 19th, 2010 02:35 pm (UTC)
Where do you start when you've been so absent for a lengthy time? I have no clue, and have tried/started a few times to update. There's nothing much really going on, but I've always managed to squeek entries in even when I'm totally bored. I need a jump start. :D lol
Nov. 19th, 2010 08:21 pm (UTC)
The one time I was absent for a length of time, I simply re-started with a general update, and then on to daily stuff :P
Nov. 19th, 2010 08:23 pm (UTC)
I feel awkward. And there's the new, lovely feature with all my psychotic relatives coming here and reading, which makes me sick to my stomach. I'll have to think about it, because I do need an outlet, and my handwriting sucks :D
Nov. 20th, 2010 11:14 am (UTC)
Yeah... I stay friends only because I don't want the relatives!

Of course, that's not an option for everyone...
Nov. 20th, 2010 11:19 am (UTC)
Can't say that I blame ya, but I feel you should be free to write or journal your life without these stupid interventions, you know? I don't know how they found my journal (I never told them about it), but they made it not fun for me since my parent's deaths. That's when I slowed down until it finally seemed to come to a stop.

Plus, after doing it for so long, I feel like my friends get bored with me going on and on about road rage and job hunting. lol :)
Nov. 20th, 2010 03:06 pm (UTC)
Yeah, I agree...

And yeah, they're very annoying...

But I don't get bored of your posts!
Nov. 20th, 2010 04:31 pm (UTC)
I'm just not so healthy right now, and certainly don't want to publicly journal the medical stuff I have going on. I'm a lot weaker than I was a year ago, so doing most things takes a lot of effort, you know? Still - I did love keeping this journal up, and wish it was easy to just slide back into it.
Nov. 20th, 2010 04:38 pm (UTC)
Yeah... We should catch up properly, though... How's next week for you?
Nov. 20th, 2010 06:28 pm (UTC)
Next week is Thanksgiving, and I also have an interview (ironically enough). But you could always try on Monday, as I don't think I have plans then. I have to work Sunday, so an early call isn't a good idea :D :>
Nov. 20th, 2010 06:35 pm (UTC)

Monday it is :D
Nov. 20th, 2010 06:36 pm (UTC)
Cool! It'll be good to catch up with ya. We were talking about England the other day (about how it rains all the time...lol). :) Hopefully, you guys are catching some sunshine :D
Nov. 20th, 2010 07:20 pm (UTC)
It will be indeed! :D

And we're getting the odd bright moment :D
Nov. 21st, 2010 01:12 am (UTC)
Love the bright moments, even the odd ones :D
Nov. 19th, 2010 02:50 pm (UTC)
I guess it's more useful as a daily updating tool for some than for others. Nice to see you're still alive!
Nov. 19th, 2010 02:52 pm (UTC)
I have daily things that I DO need to remember, but cannot seem to get restarted on the journal. It's frustrating. I think all of my unhealthy relatives made me sick of journaling publicly, and I refuse to do it privately. Anonymous comments are almost always ill-intended.
Nov. 19th, 2010 03:00 pm (UTC)
I miss your writings/photos/etc...
Nov. 19th, 2010 03:01 pm (UTC)
Aww, I'm sorry. I just don't have it in me now. Hopefully, it'll come back soon. This week alone was journal-worthy.
Nov. 19th, 2010 05:17 pm (UTC)
Well, I always was more of a reader than a writer.

Hi, by the way.
Nov. 19th, 2010 05:18 pm (UTC)
Hi *waves*

And I'm neither right now. I need to chop chop or something.
Nov. 19th, 2010 07:27 pm (UTC)
yes and it's better than stalkbook
Nov. 19th, 2010 08:22 pm (UTC)
Are you on there? Add me :P
Nov. 19th, 2010 09:01 pm (UTC)
If you're worried about family members seeing things, then set filters for your posts. I hope you come back and write more soon. =)

Nov. 19th, 2010 10:15 pm (UTC)
I've always said I'd never hide behind totally filtered entries. I'm not afraid of them - they just make me /sick/ to my stomach. It's more than just them reading; I just haven't felt like journaling for the past year or so.

*hugs back*
Nov. 20th, 2010 02:17 am (UTC)
It sounds like "journaling" is a specific type of writing for you. Is that accurate and, if it is, what's the difference between that and just sitting down to put some words out there?
Nov. 20th, 2010 10:02 am (UTC)
When I started, this was a daily account of events, some of which were bizarre. It's not just writing for writing's sake, but an account of life as I've lived it. So in a way, it was/is important to me if no one else, ya know?

Just based, however, on my stupid relative's comments, they've gone back to day one and read it like a book because they know so much now. It's really a sad situation. They're also a bunch of hypocrites, claiming to be Christian, yet not having a nodding acquaintance with what that word should mean to them. (Sorry...now I'm just rambling out loud...lol). :)

I should get back to it no matter how uneventful the day or who is reading.
Nov. 19th, 2010 10:08 pm (UTC)
Its easy to fall off the LJ bandwagon, but you are fondly remembered here. :D
Nov. 19th, 2010 10:14 pm (UTC)
That's so sweet :) Thank you. I miss reading you guys, too. I just haven't been on LJ in a long time.
Nov. 20th, 2010 05:10 am (UTC)
I've found that Twitter and Facebook have been satisfying most of the "I have to tell someone about this now" urges that would drive my LiveJournal posts. It's a pity, though. I never go into detail there because I have to keep things so brief.

That said, though, I still read my LJ Friends (though RSS feeds at least). And of all the journals that used to post: i think i miss yours the most.
Nov. 20th, 2010 10:03 am (UTC)
James! That almost made me cry (seriously). I use facebook minimally, but usually plug in a phrase or two a day.

Wow. Your comment makes me want to journal. *hugs*
Nov. 20th, 2010 07:21 am (UTC)
I was wondering where you'd gone off to!
Nov. 20th, 2010 10:03 am (UTC)
Never ever land? LOL :)
Nov. 23rd, 2010 06:30 pm (UTC)
I try to do at least weekly updates, which is roughly my average over the 9 years I've been on LJ.
Nov. 23rd, 2010 06:40 pm (UTC)
I did see your update. You guys were at another Con somewhere, right? :D You're steady and consistent on a weekly basis. It's weird that we've been on LJ for so long, isn't it?? I was thinking about that this morning.
Nov. 24th, 2010 12:12 am (UTC)
We were in New Orleans for a gathering of our friends. It's not a real con, but we call it QuarterCon. Connie and I are the hosts, sort of.

It is a bit weird how long it's been! Time truly does fly.
Nov. 24th, 2010 01:06 am (UTC)
New Orleans is always fun! I'd love to walk a year in your shoes :D
Nov. 24th, 2010 01:38 am (UTC)
I'm flattered, but it's probably pretty boring except for the travel.
Nov. 24th, 2010 08:25 pm (UTC)
I doubt it's boring! :)

Here is Belladonna, the Lady of the Rocks,
The lady of situations.
Here is the man with three staves, and here the Wheel,
And here is the one-eyed merchant, and this card
Which is blank, is something that he carries on his back,
Which I am forbidden to see. I do not find
The Hanged Man. Fear death by water.
I see crowds of people, walking round in a ring.
Thank you. If you see dear Mrs. Equitone,
Tell her I bring the horoscope myself;

One must be so careful these days.
