Quickest emotional rebound ever

Wowwwwwwww. This morning got off to a stellar start. I had NO expectations after last night (and also owe lefthand_path an apology for maybe scaring him), and didn't think I'd sleep. But I did, and woke up feeling okay. Grabbed some hot apple cider THEN hot chocolate (excess much?) and settled down to the laptop, hoping Z would pop up.

He did, and we talked about some severe things going on which NOBODY in here will ever know about (except, of course, lefthand_path). We started rationally talking about what we need to do at this juncture, and I feel a lot better. Yesterday afternoon crashed like a 30-year-old single engine plane with a 12-year-old pilot. It wasn't pretty, and I was in tears (which NEVER happens). Today, I resolved that /this/ would not happen to me again. I learned from it, and really that's all I /can/ do.

Then, whilst drinking my variety of beverages (because 7 different ones weren't quite enough; it's a good thing I'm allergic to alcohol) I talked with Z first. The, from out of the clear blue sky...

I'm sure I've written about her a lot over the years, since we were as thick as thieves in Germany and she had the love child (and married) my ex-boyfriend. LOL =) I lovingly called her bird woman (long story) and she was the first person (but not the last) to call my hair, my "crown of glory". Hahaha. I have SO many good memories of the things we did that I cannot begin to list them here.

She was the first girl I ever kissed (or was kissed by). :) Very cool. And she's only a state or two away! I'm so excited, I want to MapQuest her, and arrive by noon. LOL :D Jackie, Jackie...

  • Remember eating ribs and playing Tetrus for hours?

  • You were and still remain the only girl/woman I looked up to.

  • Spades from Friday night until Saturday noon?

  • Walking to our favorite Deutsch restaurante, where we were a member of their stamtisch?

  • Quagggggggg :)

  • Being in that nude sauna, and having our battalion commander walk in? OMGWTFBBQ??

  • Those damn $5 earrings you told that drunk guy were priceless from India? And you got away with it??LOLOLOL!

  • The first girl I'd ever met who wore glasses without a prescription (gaaaaaah remember when that was popular? Heh.)

  • Driving and taking a train to Maastricht, Holland just to get away and stay at the boat motel with Captain Kangaroo? Then trying to explain his new nickname to him?? LOL

  • Dancing ALL NIGHT LONG most every weekend in downtown Stuttgart, raising a ruckus, and kissing guys

  • Exchanging clothes, since we were the same size? (I still have one of your sweater combinations...hahaha)

  • OMG. Remind me to tell you the real truth about Captain Felix Santiago. You'll die.

  • Allard's Angels :D

  • The Freuling's Fest with our boyfriends?:D

  • That party, and the big, round pink bed in the colonel's room, that we made out with our boyfriends on? OMGGGGGGGG. He had a camera in there!!! LOL

  • Those HUGE ASS chicken legs from Schmidt's Chicken?! WHAT THE HELL did they feed those bastidges?!?

  • Getting that photo-ticket in the mail, with me driving my car, you and I both laughing in the front seat, and two other girls laughing in the back, while I ran that stop sign?

  • Brutally teasing virtually every man who dared to come into our paths? We were quite the pair, indeed

  • Taking turns kissing the hot, Swedish guy with the sexy long hair at the Swedish dance club?

  • Hanging out after hours in the newsroom ;-) :X

  • Our boyfriends, wanting us to get in a fight because we spent too much time together?

  • My whole apartment, TRASHED, when I broke up with Mike?

  • Painting each other's nails before going out on Saturday night? Or when we were just bored?

  • Being introduced to Calvin Klein's "then new" underwear! Woo!

  • That retard I threw a beer at? OMGGGGGG that was funny.

  • Minnie Prill? Where is she? Find her!!!

  • Snow skiing and our sessay snow suits?

  • Too many things to even continue listing here, but none of which I'll ever forget.

  • Yeah :) So Jackie wrote me and I'm beyond excited. Her son is now in the National Guard as an MP and was the bodyguard of some bigwig general. Kinda cool, and kinda like something she or I would do, since we were /always/ first ready on alert :D Mannnnnnnn, I miss those days.

And then, aforementioned called just to make sure I was okay. Awwwwwwww. That was so sweet. It makes you feel good that someone is truly concerned in your life, and shows it like that. I only hope that one day, I can repay the favor.

Yesterday might've sucked, but today's already wonderful. Even if bad things happened, they couldn't diminish the wonderful morning I've had already. =D

Sgt. Maj. Bill? I hope you're reading this. She's in Kentucky! ROAD TRIP!

    Er. The end.

see? from that list you just posted, i'm sure you have enough to write several 50K word novels!

i just wish i'd managed to call sooner. i'm glad things are going better
    Nov. 1st, 2007 04:33 pm (UTC)
You called right on time (both times). With friends and people like you in my life, it's so much more tolerable, ya know? :) I appreciate your being there for me, especially last night when I was working with only a quarter brain usage. :)
    Nov. 1st, 2007 04:46 pm (UTC)
well, i'm sure at 1/4 capacity you could still outbrain most folks. now i'm sure folks are thinking "he's just kissing her ass" but its true.

glad i could help. just wished i was closer in proximity.

good friends are too rare to come by so i try and keep ones i have. so many folks just end up attempting to use you to serve their own interests. i know, i have the scars on my back to prove it.
    Nov. 1st, 2007 04:53 pm (UTC)
You're not /that/ far. I know that if I needed you, you'd be here as I would for you. True friends /are/ hard to come by. I, too, have the scars, with this anonymous comments coming FROM those who would call themselves "friend". Unreal.
    Nov. 1st, 2007 05:06 pm (UTC)
well you know, just let me know when a good weekend would be and we can get all artsy and craftsy
    Nov. 1st, 2007 09:33 pm (UTC)
Oh, yeah!!! I need to go have some more photos copied, and also to take some new ones (I'm going on a photog expedition to a cotton field out near Gaston Steam Plant). :D Not this nor the next, but the weekend after is perfect. During the week is cooleous, if I'm not interviewing, etc. (depending on your class schedule) particularly towards the end of each week. Just lemme knows. :>
    Nov. 1st, 2007 10:34 pm (UTC)
that weekend looks good for me, too. i'll see what my schedule looks like for the coming weeks, as well (it isn't THAT far of a drive)... and you need to take some pics of me since i only have one i like!
    Nov. 1st, 2007 10:35 pm (UTC)
That would be fun!! I'm a pretty good photographer :D I'd be happy to! :)
    Nov. 1st, 2007 10:45 pm (UTC)
just don't think you can trick me into taking any of my clothes off... i'm not that gullible. well, ok, maybe i am. :P
    Nov. 1st, 2007 10:46 pm (UTC)
Well you know when it comes to putting your BEST FOOT forward...

    :X :X LOLOL.
    Nov. 1st, 2007 11:08 pm (UTC)
LOL to quote you, you ain't right.

and now... must write... must write... aaahhhh!
    Nov. 1st, 2007 11:50 pm (UTC)

You write! I don't think I'm doing it this year.
    Nov. 2nd, 2007 12:02 am (UTC)
heh, if it don't get any easier in the next 3 days, i might be quitting. course i say that every year, up until the last week...
    Nov. 2nd, 2007 01:02 am (UTC)
Of course, I could always scamper and start NOW. Hm...I'm doing the math on it to see how long it will take me IF I do ,it.
    Nov. 2nd, 2007 01:53 am (UTC)
i'm pretty sure you could knock out 3K words a day, easy. i'm hoping i hit my stride by this weekend, we'll see. if i wasn't so freaking tired i could have done more.
    Nov. 2nd, 2007 03:15 pm (UTC)
I could do it, but quality is my concern. Blahhhhhhh. 3,000 words a day is a good, solid feature story a day with sidebar. LOL :D
    Nov. 2nd, 2007 04:21 pm (UTC)
yeah, there's those days when QUANtity not QUALity is my main concern, but i always look at it like "i can always go back and smooth it out later, or maybe actually enlist some aid for a change..."
    Nov. 2nd, 2007 05:33 pm (UTC)
I'm serious when I say this time, it should be a you/me collaboration. You write, I clean and tighten. Heeeelllllz it would be one piece of work worth reading.

Here is Belladonna, the Lady of the Rocks,
    The lady of situations.
Here is the man with three staves, and here the Wheel,
And here is the one-eyed merchant, and this card
Which is blank, is something that he carries on his back,
Which I am forbidden to see. I do not find
The Hanged Man. Fear death by water.
I see crowds of people, walking round in a ring.
Thank you. If you see dear Mrs. Equitone,
    Tell her I bring the horoscope myself;

One must be so careful these days.
