...but I got a TON accomplished from yesterday until RIGHT NOW. I've been busy wrapping presents, folding, boxing, bowing and swirling ribbons that I'm dizzy from it all. I finally feel satisfied that those I love will be as happy as possible with the gift thing. I have having to worry so much about it. The stores were relatively quick to get in and out6 of (thank GOD!), and again, I got 15% discounts at both Rugged and Steinmart! I'm lurving my military I.D. right about now. The money saved is unreal.

My wrapping skillz have turned mad over the past few years. I used to TOTALLY suck at it. Now, I'm halfway decent. Dunno where THAT came from. The presents were so happy looking I had to take some pics. This is the spawn's booty. I have several boxes with multiple presents inside. Can't individually wrap everything, ya know, especially if it's shaped weird. Here's a straight out view of them...
I don't know WHY I can't wrap text around images anymore. Grrrr. These are, again, scrapbook photos, so if you want to see 'em big, you have to keep clicking until you see the magnifying glass. See! I'm not such a bad wrapper after all. :>  Now, I just have to finish inscribing the cards and I'll be done with the horrifying part of Christmas.

Thank GOD. Literally and figuratively.

OH...and to "anonymous" who bought the movie "Quiet American" from my wish list, THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!  That really lifted my spirits today when I found it waiting in my mailbox. Very considerate, and I'll be watching it when I'm through with this :) :)

Care to share your identity? No name on it. Just sayin'...

Okay. I'm exhausted and hungry, so I be outta hur.

Hope all the gifts are being stored under the tree for Tuesday!
Dec. 24th, 2007 04:28 am (UTC)
Why do you hope that?

Your card that you said to look out for didn't come, btw.
Dec. 24th, 2007 04:37 am (UTC)
1. I meant, well, that I hope you're waiting for Christmas Day to open them. :-) Why? Did you skip on putting up a tree this year, or is that something you just don't do?

2. You're kidding me, right? (No, I know you're not.) AAAAUGH! I put that thing on TWO-DAY delivery. Hmmm...maybe insufficient postage. I admit I haven't checked the mailbox since Thursday. My humble apologies. I will check before work and zip you an e-mail. It's a thick padded envelope with both our addresses on it.

3. Why the heck are you still online at 1:30am? LOL. Just not used to seeing you online this late.

4. "Quiet American" -- not me, but wish I'd thought of it!

Not too shabby a job at all.

I finished my wrapping yesterday too. Today, I need to have fun with colored pencils and stickers and make a mock/fun family picture to frame. We are giving my in-laws a family protrait sitting for Christmas. Well, I mean us and my BIL's family. Rather than a note in a card, I'm going to draw stick people and put stickers and stuff on it and come up with some corny saying to write about getting everyone together for a picture. Then I'll frame it and wrap that for them to open.

I have a tendency to make things complicated. ;p

Enjoy your Christmas Eve!

That'll be so cute! I love little handmade things best of all :) :D

I just receieved the absolute BEST PRESENT EVER. Frances is here cleaning (I've known her for nearly 18 years, and we've become friends...she used to be my maid, back in my "days of thunder"...lol). I can't afford her, but she'll surprise me often, and just come do it. Today, she's being compensated, although not nearly what she's worth. But it feels SO GOOD knowing all this will be done without me having to overstress msyelf.

That's very neat wrapping. Frilly ribbons an'all! I haven't wrapped my girls' pressies yet - they're all awkward sort of smallish shapes. I'll do them in a bit... today is another Rest Day for me, until tonight's midnight carol service, that is.

Have a wonderful Christmas!

Oh, I had to make the ribbons frilly. I use a pair of scissors, and run them between my thumb and the ribbon to curl it up. It's a neat little trick. But last year, wow. My presents were "opulent". They were like pieces of art, with really nice paper, and hand-made bows with bells inside, etc. I hope she likes this different wrapping tact. Hey...at least I wrap 'em. I know many parents who /don't/ and their kids are teens. WTS?

You're much too modest. "Halfway decent" wrapping skills? Those gifts look wonderful!

A very merry Christmas to you and yours!

Awwwwwww thanks! I really am a terrible wrapper, but I'm creative; so the bows kinda make the presents, considering the limited (and cheap) wrapping stuff I had. :>

Here is Belladonna, the Lady of the Rocks,
The lady of situations.
Here is the man with three staves, and here the Wheel,
And here is the one-eyed merchant, and this card
Which is blank, is something that he carries on his back,
Which I am forbidden to see. I do not find
The Hanged Man. Fear death by water.
I see crowds of people, walking round in a ring.
Thank you. If you see dear Mrs. Equitone,
Tell her I bring the horoscope myself;

One must be so careful these days.
