Like my dreams

They're scary and make no sense :>

I gave the other guitar to keep with its companion, but am keeping the frightening mother and child one por moi. My iHome just had to get in the pic.

Went in to work today. PICKED UP MY CAR! I should take pictures of it. It looks like it did when I first bought it. I'm soooooooooooo happy to be on the road with el carro again!!! :) I took care of a bunch of errands today in it and it was JOYFUL to be driving. Had to get the engagement ring resized (or have a new sizer put in), picked up pottery from Made by U from the spawnlette et al, deposited my check, worked, stopped by Bed, Bath and Beyond and finally made it home. Z is picking up canvas at my request. I have all this paint, and I might as well use it. I'm not doing any more of those heavy window paintings unless I get some of the authentic wooden ones in somehow.

And that's today. Nada going on but me, nesting and finishing this schtuff up. Now, I rest. Spaghetti for dinner, and I'll be a happy girl :)

Awwwwwwww thanks! Picasso was a bizarre little man. lol :) A restauranteur *sic* just saw the big one, and I might be doing something for them. He's a guitar enthusiast (and an art enthusiast) so who knows. :> That wasn't "fun" to paint, but I could see doing Picasso's blue period old man with guitar for them. :>

It will be a commissioned work! :D

i like the top one because i like the blue tones in it, but the bottom one better because it is tres freaky.

so those are average window size?
Feb. 16th, 2008 09:32 pm (UTC)
They're both brightly colored. The guitar is frighteningly similar. Only one flaw I could find with it (it was a tough copy).
Feb. 16th, 2008 09:32 pm (UTC)
P.S. - No; the guitar is on a larger window. The mother and child, on a tiny bathroom window.

they look pretty groovy, with light behind them do they kinda glow?
Feb. 16th, 2008 09:36 pm (UTC)
They're painted on glass, so they do tend to kinda glow/shine. Not so much when I use thick coatings. You saw all those windows on my porch! Imagine if I painted all of em...Y I K E S.

get crackin', i expect six by wednesday.
Feb. 16th, 2008 09:53 pm (UTC)
Wahahaha. Go get the canvas then ;p
Feb. 16th, 2008 09:54 pm (UTC)
butbutbutbutbut... you have all those windows...

man, canvas get EXPENSIVE
Feb. 16th, 2008 10:07 pm (UTC)
I really use mine, though. And the ART IS FREE. GAH.
Feb. 16th, 2008 10:21 pm (UTC)
ah, i was just joking. i don't really expect 6. i expect 12. LOL

oh, the cost of the canvas don't bother me, i was just sayin' that the more painting you do, the bigger the cost gets. my friend chris used to buy crappy old paintings at the salvation army, gesso over them, and boom! instant masterpiece!
Feb. 16th, 2008 10:29 pm (UTC)
Great idea, although I like the clean, new texture of fresh canvas. :)
Feb. 16th, 2008 10:52 pm (UTC)
well that was back in the "non salad" days when i used to live in the ham... we lived in that apartment building near the "storyteller statue" in 5 points, that big old one. lived on the cheap.
Feb. 17th, 2008 12:58 am (UTC)
Man, if there was a fire on top of that building...just sayin'...

I just finished my 8x10. Man, those are TOO small for me to be painting on. :> I did my gratuitous "Icehouse" tribute painting. Someone had to do it, right? :D

yeah, that small work can be rough on the hands and eyes, i imagine.

Here is Belladonna, the Lady of the Rocks,
The lady of situations.
Here is the man with three staves, and here the Wheel,
And here is the one-eyed merchant, and this card
Which is blank, is something that he carries on his back,
Which I am forbidden to see. I do not find
The Hanged Man. Fear death by water.
I see crowds of people, walking round in a ring.
Thank you. If you see dear Mrs. Equitone,
Tell her I bring the horoscope myself;

One must be so careful these days.
