Magically freaky

So now, out of the clear blue sky, my keyboard works. UH? WTH. Not that I'm complaining; but I still need a new one, due to the missing C and forward slash tops.

Last night, all of us were on the patio, in black, looking like we'd been to a funeral watching hail, the size of freakin' golf balls slam into our cars. The electricity went off, so no work for us. I was schmart enough to NOT be optimistic that it would be restored (and it wasn't), but many of my co-workers stayed. I've gotta hand it to my peers at work -- they're all very smart and clever/funny. It kinda rocks working with people like that. The all-black thing is just bonus, eh? :D Last night, the guy I've been working with made a comment that out of all of us, I was the only one with good posture. LOL. I didn't tell him that my mother used to threaten me with a back brace if I didn't sit up straight. This was after, incidentally, I was "man-handled" by some perverted gas station attendant, so I wasn't real happy. I could've taken that the wrong way, had I not known him so well.

The work is lucrative but physically exhausting. I have nothing left for home when I get off work. And I love wearing black, so it's all good. I just wonder if this is what I should do, considering all the calls I've been getting lately. Since I've been in training, I've worked day and night since last Friday. Everyone seems to like me (or so rumor has it), and that's a good thing, too. I like them, so it's a win-win situation. I feel my own mortality, however, as most of them are so young.

No time to update /all/ that's going on, or even half of it, since most of it's fairly serious and nobody's bidness really, but my own. Art and writing have been put on hold in lieu of napping in between work, and I smell veal marsalla and ravioli 24/7 now. lol Imma have to fumigate my house. (For those who live here and need extra work on the side, I /highly/ recommend this...the money can't be beat, period).

So yeah. That's that. No mental stress /whatsoever/. I'd forgotten how beautiful it is to go to work and not bring it home in my head with me.

Last night during the outage, a tornado touched down about three miles from us in Hoover. It was awful. On the drive home, there were literally trees across streets, blocking traffic. In front of Vestavia High School, the police were there, directing traffic. Bad deal all the way around. We haven't seen a real storm like that all year. And for it to hail like that, I knew we'd see tornadoes. We always do, and Hoover seems to get hit or at least touched on every time. Freaky.

Gotta go in at 4 today, and am in a flare. Uggggggggh. This doesn't bode well for my night. I've been "cut loose" now, so I make more money. It's kinda sweet, walking out with your day's work in your pocket, I must confess. I must be doing a decent job, too, because my peeps have paid me overly generously. Or maybe I'm just lucky. I do have an interview on Monday, but have decided to continue doing this even if I do decide to work in an office full time. It would be stupid to forego a Friday or Saturday night without making a sweet extra $100 for 3-4 hours.

I'm tired, and am gonna nap. Again, too much going on to update, so I'll leave it at this. My apologies to friends for not keeping up with your pages. Life is just crazy right now.

Hail the size of golf balls!

Wow! I'm thankful everyone is safe down there. *gentle hug*

Mmm....ravioli sounds soooo good right now. Mom's making cavatini for their dinner party tonight. (I will be at work.)

Is it just my cellphone, or did you post this entry twice?

Wow, that's some big hail! So where are you working now? What kind of job is the interview on Monday? Good luck with that!

I can't say "where" for obvious stalker reasons. lol :) The work, however, is probably going to be too physically demanding for me, unless I do it part time. The other is an admin position. I turned one down working downtown making serious dead presidents (I will NOT subject myself to downtown traffic for love or money). :> And thanks!:)

LOLOL. That's about the size of it ;p Easy, killer. It was like a misaligned Daisy Wheel for a month there. Freaky, I'm tellin' ya.

Here is Belladonna, the Lady of the Rocks,
The lady of situations.
Here is the man with three staves, and here the Wheel,
And here is the one-eyed merchant, and this card
Which is blank, is something that he carries on his back,
Which I am forbidden to see. I do not find
The Hanged Man. Fear death by water.
I see crowds of people, walking round in a ring.
Thank you. If you see dear Mrs. Equitone,
Tell her I bring the horoscope myself;

One must be so careful these days.
