So much has changed just in the brief time I've journaled. I now have a TOTALLY full social schedule with lunch with my neighbor, an old high-school buddy, my new boss and brother/sister-in-law. This doesn't include a book that needs to be rewritten, which was thrown into my lap by another high-school friend and her husband, nor does it include my new job as director of marketing for a really neat company. I can't wait to begin on Monday.

I've tried to keep up with Nano, but I've been too busy. If I fall behind too much, I might have to quit.

The job, by the way, started off nice and innocent. I was to do office administration: Payroll, AP/AR, taxes, collections...things of that nature. Now that my new boss has gotten to know me, he feels I'd be much better in this role. So the job description changed after they hired me. I love when that happens O.o lol :>

I'm enjoying a great new relationship with my sister-in-law, who is just as loveable and funny as she can be. I'm glad of this, because really, that's the only family I have left.

This is my favorite time of the year, and yet I've no time to wax poetic about it. I feel my journal has slipped, fallen to the wayside and I'll never catch up - either reading or writing. If something crucial happened to ya, leave me a comment so that I'm aware. lol :) I'm running around with my ass on fire, still having trouble sleeping.

The past couple of days, I've been sick. As a dog. MAJOR sick. Dunno where it came from, but it needs to go away before Monday (or Saturday; my neigbhor is elderly). I also have to take her to the airport in her car on Thursday, so I need to heal up.

And thank GOD my vote REALLY counted for the first time in 8 years. GO OBAMA. No, I don't want to hear your difference of opinion, as I've taken great pains to study both candidates in depth (and their VPs and potential associates). Okay, I don't want to hear your differing opinion because this is my journal. How's that? :> Or better yet - you won two times prior, so lose like a man just as you feel you won as a man. Man up. Deal with it.

Since joining that obscure website, I've reconnected with SO many people with whom I grew up. It's so strange, as I don't remember half of them who've added themselves to my list. lol :)Some I do, some? No clue. That activity takes up a great deal of my time, also. Lovely. Like I need another internet distraction.

Okay. Time for bed por moi.

So what are you doing if not office admin? Office mgmt?

What is it that you like so much about this time of the year?

I hope you feel better soon!

The admin job I thought I was going to work included management (all the roles I mentioned above). However, they've totally changed the scope of my employment due to my experience, what they've seen, and ideas I've mentioned. Now, I'm the director of P.R. and marketing (among other things). I'm great at thinking outside the box. Honestly I was LUCKY to get this job, as there were 112 people he actually interviewed with. I'm so excited! =D First thing Monday morning, we're holding a large meeting.

They dress SUPER casual (and I need to order shirts online to get iconed ones), and I'm worried about not having enough pants to wear. He said I could wear jeans unless I was meeting with a large client, performing special events/attending trade shows, and when taking clients to lunch, etc. I feel uncomfortable wearing jeans, so I've grooved up my Victoria's Secret wish list (HUGE HINT TO EVERYONE) which includes a few pair of khakis. I simply don't want to dress /that/ down (jeans and whatever), and he wears khakis. But I digress.

I love everything about this time of year!

Thank you. I've GOT to get better by tomorrow due to obligations this weekend and new job Monday. Eep Help!

1) Yay on the job. I'm happy for you, Terri! Keep us posted if/when you have time.

2) Get well soon! Praying for that.

3) Obama - I figured you would. Shoot me an email sometime: I am curious to know how you chose him. No discussion, no feedback, I promise.

3. I'm afraid my justification and debating days regarding my decision are over, although I made my point and in many cases, changed other people's minds. He's almost as conservative as a republican, so even republican's aren't that freaked out.

2. Trying to get well! My new job starts off running Monday.

1. You might want to try and grab me on messenger when you're on a computer! I'm hard to keep up with lately. :>
Nov. 7th, 2008 04:33 pm (UTC)
1) I'd prefer a phone call sometime, if only to hear your AL accent. *lol* But yeah, next time I see you on IM I'll try.

Did you un-friend me and change your mind? Ha ha.
Nov. 7th, 2008 06:46 pm (UTC)

Hey... How've you been sleeping, lately?
Nov. 7th, 2008 07:03 pm (UTC)
Oh God...last night I didn't even get an hour's worth. :(
Nov. 7th, 2008 08:54 pm (UTC)

Hopefully the work routine will fix that!

Eye see, Open your eyes
Creeping Through The Cellar Door

Latest Month

June 2019

Here is Belladonna, the Lady of the Rocks,
The lady of situations.
Here is the man with three staves, and here the Wheel,
And here is the one-eyed merchant, and this card
Which is blank, is something that he carries on his back,
Which I am forbidden to see. I do not find
The Hanged Man. Fear death by water.
I see crowds of people, walking round in a ring.
Thank you. If you see dear Mrs. Equitone,
Tell her I bring the horoscope myself;

One must be so careful these days.
