Call PETA - flagrant animal abuse

Anybody who dresses a dog up like Princess Leia deserves to be shot. In fact, I don't think you should put clothes on animals to make them *cute*. Only functional.

No joke! lol

I was looking for a little sweater or jacket for Gio, so that he'll start learning how to go outside. Iggys don't have hardly any hair, so for them to go out, it's like us walking out naked in 20 degree weather. I can't make him do that, poor thing. But never would I dress my dog up like THAT.

Cats don't allow this
and if you see a dressed up cat, it is plotting its revenge...

Hahahahaha. They did have some cats in clothes on that website :D I imagine the person who put the clothes on is all shred to pieces right about now...

Oh. I have a freakin' mouse. YOUR FAULT!

It's the cat's fault! You know, the one you don't have... Mine keeps my house mouse free, tho she does bring in chipmunks for their "entertainment" value...

Quite agree. It's not 'cute', it's just yicky, and bordering on abusive, to dress any animal up in clothing purely for human amusement.

I don't seriously think it's abusive, since they don't "get it", but I'd never do that to my little one (who has again been renamed). I am having to get him little sweaters so he can do his business outside. Iggys have little to no hair on them.

Yeah.... functional garments is one thing, but it's the whole treating animals (or small kids) as dollies to be dressed up and a source of amusement that makes me very uneasy. I'm from farming stock, and to me animals are either dinner-on-the-hoof or skilled farming assistants to control same - be they dogs or cats. I like animals, very much, but they have a job and a function and to take them out of that context bothers me.

I suppose it doesn't bother me because humans do it allllllll the time (particularly for parties and Halloween). That's what the dress-up as Leia was for, btw. If it hurt the animal, then I'd have problems with it.

That's strange!

I admit I used to dress up my dog, even as a princess but I was ten. :)

Words.

Here is Belladonna, the Lady of the Rocks,
The lady of situations.
Here is the man with three staves, and here the Wheel,
And here is the one-eyed merchant, and this card
Which is blank, is something that he carries on his back,
Which I am forbidden to see. I do not find
The Hanged Man. Fear death by water.
I see crowds of people, walking round in a ring.
Thank you. If you see dear Mrs. Equitone,
Tell her I bring the horoscope myself;

One must be so careful these days.
