Scratch dinner plans...bahhhh.

So I run to the grocery store, only to pick up milk and bread. I notice an elderly woman (who looks well taken care of) talking to...me. Eeks. She's telling me how good a certain spaghetti sauce is. What started off as a sauce conversation turned into everything from cooking to parenting, and what a nice person I seem to be. IF SHE ONLY KNEW. MUHAHAHA. What's odd is that no matter where I go, the elderly want to talk to me; always. They always strike up a conversation, and I always enjoy it. It's my destiny to work with them, I'm thinking.

I want to work at a nursing home. That's what I REALLY want to do, if the truth be known. I love the elderly, and they love me. I can listen to their stories all day and never get tired of them. Tomorrow? I'm going from Southhaven to every other known nursing home in town, and see if they need an activities director/P.R. rep. Yep...yep...yep. That's what I'm gonna do. I missed the opportunity to do this years' ago, because at the time I was married, and made more money than he (in other words, I was the bread winner; they couldn't afford my salary). I think I've regretted not taking that job ever since.

So...I'm staying home, grilling burgers, waxing my kitchen floor, and goin' nite nite like a good girl. :P So much for polls, eh? Maybe tomorrow night...

(but you still suck!)

I really wanted to come up with something mean/sarcastic to say, but it would just be wrong. That's just too sweet of you. *hug*

I have allllllways loved the elderly. They're almost like children. I really really really wanna pursue this, and am going to make calls tomorrow in pursuit of one in which I can work.

I already volunteer for one. Might as well make a job out of it.

Don't be mean!! >:o Old people need love, too! (Oooooooo, I see...you were gonna mention my b'day, etc. etc...don't even go there!!!)

Re: (YOU SUCK MORE!! >:o)
Ha! You read my mind :) But I just couldn't say something mean since you were talking about something so sweet and good-natured. Darn you!

Seriously, that would be a wonderful job. You would have so much fun there, doing something that you like, and you could really exercise your creative side.

Plus, you'd probably give all the old geezers boners, so the nursing home could save money on Viagra! heh. freak!

I am the biggest, dorkiest, geekiest freak of nature I've yet to encounter. God forbid there's another like me out there.

I swear, we stood there talking for an hour. WTH. And I'm the most BORING PERSON *I* know. I really REALLY need to get out more, huh...heh :D

My cousin is a marketing director for a chain of nursing homes (point being...there may be ways to actually make good $$$ there).

Any in the Birmingham area?
While I desperately need the income, I honestly can see myself working at a nursing home as an activities coordinator or just entertainment assistant for the rest of my life. I feel so sorry for them :( Their kids basically leave them there to die, rarely visiting them. It's horrible. So I spend as much time most Sundays as I can, reading to them and playing piano for their services.

I'm definitely making calls tomorrow. It's either that, or aggressively hit on Alabama Public Television, which DEFINITELY needs some fresh blood/ideas. Hm.

Here is Belladonna, the Lady of the Rocks,
The lady of situations.
Here is the man with three staves, and here the Wheel,
And here is the one-eyed merchant, and this card
Which is blank, is something that he carries on his back,
Which I am forbidden to see. I do not find
The Hanged Man. Fear death by water.
I see crowds of people, walking round in a ring.
Thank you. If you see dear Mrs. Equitone,
Tell her I bring the horoscope myself;

One must be so careful these days.
