Yeah, I saw that in one of your entries.
I feel you on the cat adoption--a cat adopted Jason and I in West Virginia, and DID have kittens on our front porch!!

Eeeps!!

Somebody asked me about "my cat" today, and I said: "ER, it's not MY CAT; I'm her human."

AAAACKKKKKKKKKK!!!

Gawd!!

Since the LAST response I sent ya, SHE'S BACK. MEWLING AND CRYING AND...GAH. So I walked her BACK OVER THERE, knocked on the door...no joy. Then, I looked to see if she had food/water (like Eddie SAID she did) and there was NOTHING OUT THERE FOR HER. :(

Now I feel AWFUL...she's GOTTA be starving :( All I give her is milk :/ :I

Evidently her previous owner just got sick of having a cat and turned her loose to go feral. Problem is, once they've been housecats for a while, they really don't know how to fend for themselves very well. And the true feral cats in the neighborhood will usually kick their asses if there's a contest for food. That's what happened to the cat that adopted us, we think. So we set up lodgings on our front porch for her--and later, for her kids as well. We then took advantage of a program where if you brought in a stray animal that wasn't fixed yet, they'd do it for $5 if you qualified based on income. I did, so we did, so there was no more danger of her having extra mouths to feed. Eventually we found new homes for her and the whole litter.

You'd mentioned this one looking pregnant. Is the belly firm? You can usually feel the bodies as well once they're that far along that they have the "look".

Got any small plastic dishes you could put some cat chow in? She's a stray, you won't have to buy gourmet stuff. Plus if you get a paper, they usually run cat food coupons every week or every other. You can get Friskies cheap that way. Geddy (our kitty) always liked the seafood blend...:-)
Water on the side, too. Cow's milk can sometimes give cats diarrhea. Tuna can do so as well.

Words.

Here is Belladonna, the Lady of the Rocks,
The lady of situations.
Here is the man with three staves, and here the Wheel,
And here is the one-eyed merchant, and this card
Which is blank, is something that he carries on his back,
Which I am forbidden to see. I do not find
The Hanged Man. Fear death by water.
I see crowds of people, walking round in a ring.
Thank you. If you see dear Mrs. Equitone,
Tell her I bring the horoscope myself;

One must be so careful these days.
